| What is the biggest difference between the
TrailMAC and some of the other cheaper digital cameras? |
|
The TrailMAC uses current
technology. Each year we interface the latest digital
camera from Olympus bringing you new features and technologies along the
way. The Cheaper models are using a lesser
quality Chinese technology known as CMOS Imaging.
CMOS technology is so inadequate that not a singe digital
camera manufacture (Olympus, Sony, Fuji, Nikon, etc) uses it
for digital photography - even in their cheapest models!. |
| Why should I buy the TrailMAC opposed to the many
other game cameras on the market? |
|
We offer the
most unique features, best battery life, and the most versatility of
any camera on the market. Our systems are geared to taking high
quality photo's of game in the most reliable fashion available to
date, anywhere in the world, at any time of the year. We've
always said, if its not too cold for trees to grow, its not too cold
for our systems to operate. New for 2005 - we can now boast
the longest battery life trail camera system, on less than 1/2 the
power supply of ANY OTHER trail camera available - right out of the
box! |
|
I'm still not convinced they all look good to me! |
|
You need to read what
their advertisements are NOT saying. Are viewing
monitors included? Do they tell you exactly what the battery life
is? do they indicate exactly how far out the flash will take?
Do they explain exactly how long it takes the shutter to respond
after motion is detected? Are they showing you lots of photos
of game on their websites? Do they detail the type digital camera
found within one of their systems? What types of options or
accessories do they offer? These accessories often indicate
how fast the shutter actually is. Some companies offer scent
wicks to get the animal to pause, other offer whistle device
options. If these things are offered, chances are the systems
are slow or are not consistently as fast as advertised! |
| How can I keep my TrailMAC from being stolen? |
|
If you are mounting the
TrailMAC system in an area that has a lot of foot traffic then we
recommend you lock the system to a tree with the TrailMAC Stainless
Steel Locking Bracket. This heavy duty
bracket will deter even the most determined thieves. It simply
cannot be cut using hand tools. To our knowledge, there is not
a more secure system available! |
| Is there a way to prevent the camera from detecting squirrels and other small game? |
|
Yes!, However, Trail Sense
Engineering is the ONLY company which has figured this one out!
A regular PIR motion sensor will not accurately distinguish between animal size.
Our circuit is designed to detect all warm blooded animals which pass through the TrailMAC's
Smart Detect detection zone. The best way to prevent it from taking pictures of squirrels and raccoons is
to make sure it is high enough off the ground to "look over" these smaller animals.
However, our new Sur Shot Mode detects all animals but only takes pictures of animals which are essentially
moving slowly in front of the camera. Since squirrels and raccoons are almost always hustling around, it ignores them but takes pictures
of browsing deer which stop to feed. |
